The Brooks and Dunn Farewell Tour was highlighted tonight on the ACM Awards. The Brooks and Dunn Farewell Tour 2010 called the Last Rodeo Tour was announced August 2009, as reported on LALATE at the time. In August, Brooks and Dunn announced this Farewell Tour would be their last, after 20 years. Tonight, ACM fans decided which song for Brooks and Dunn to perform on the broadcast.
“Brooks & Dunn, the best-selling duo in the history of country music, will perform one of their hit songs as voted on by their fans at the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, to be broadcast live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 18th on the CBS Television Network. The duo is embarking on their final tour tgether this summer, and this will mark their finalAcademy of Country Music Awards performance as a duo.”
Online Brooks and Dunn confirmed in August their 2010 Farewell Tour with the following statement:
“After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it’s time call it a day,” they said.
“This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed…. We owe it all to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don’t believe them, it’s just time.”
