Keli McGregor's death leaves "huge void" in Rockies
Rockies manager Jim Tracy sat in the visitors dugout here Tuesday pounding a bat into the ground trying to make sense of it all. His eyes were puffy from crying, his voice halting."I am stunned, torn up," Tracy said. "I can't believe it. I want to understand this, but I can't."
Rockies president Keli McGregor, 48, was found dead in a hotel room in Salt Lake City at 9 a.m. Tuesday, news that numbed the organization. Salt Lake City Detective Rick Wall said police responded to the Grand America Hotel downtown and found McGregor unresponsive. Medical respondents tried to revive him on site.
"We didn't see anything suspicious," said Wall, indicating he believed Mc Gregor died of natural causes.
The official cause of death is being investigated by the Salt Lake City Medical Examiner's Office and is not expected to be released for two days.
What a great loss
