Preview Trailers for the USA Network’s New Spy Show Covert Affairs

I’ve been waiting to get a glimpse of the USA Network’s new comedy/action spy show “Covert Affairs” for a while now, so here it is — three preview trailers for the show, starring the adorable Piper Perabo as the “girl next door turned CIA spy”. And yes, the trailers certainly sell that premise like gangbusters, and why not? It’s kind of hard to buy Perabo as a CIA spy, so turning her into a “cute girl who stumbles into becoming a spy” is probably the best route they could have possibly taken. The first three trailers are all fun and games, but the fourth one is a little bit more serious. It looks very promising.

"New jobs are tough- especially when your new employer is the CIA. Annie Walker (Piper Perabo) is fluent in six languages, has traveled all over the world and is besting her fellow CIA trainees in every test, but that doesn’t explain why she’s suddenly summoned by CIA headquarters to report for active duty as a field operative a month before her training is over. What she doesn’t know is there may be something-or someone-from her past that her CIA bosses are really after".
Starring Piper Perabo as Annie Walker, fresh-faced CIA recruit; Christopher Gorham is Auggie Anderson, Annie’s CIA contact, blind guy, and love interest; they are joined by Peter Gallagher and his massive eyebrows as the CIA head honcho; the lovely Kari Matchett, who has been in an obscene amount of shows too numerous to name here; “Heroes” outcast Sendhil Ramamurthy; and “House” outcast Anne Dudek. And in one of the trailers that I can’t locate, the awesome Oded Fehr (“Sleeper Cell”) is seen as a loose cannon-type fella who appears to be working Annie Walker.
“Covert Affairs” premieres on July 13 at 10/9c on the USA Network.
